Aggressively Righteous

By Don Finto (excerpt)

I learned a long time ago that if I am not aggressively righteous, I become passively wicked.  Yeshua has taken our sins and given us His righteousness.  "He has made perfect forever those who are being made holy" (Hebrews 10:14).  It's that last part I'm talking about - the "being made holy."

If I intend to taste the holiness of God and come into the fullness of my destiny to become like Jesus, then I must continually press into Him or the world will begin to press into me and His nature in me will become dimmer and dimmer.

If I am not a worshiping man, then anxiety, fear and depression push into me. If I am not listening carefully for the voice and promptings of the Holy Spirit, then my own voice and the voice of the enemy will control me.

Demon forces are waiting to invade an empty house (See Matt. 12:43-45). I must stay full of Yeshua Himself and His Spirit. Only forceful Godly-aggressive men and women "lay hold of the kingdom" (Matt. 11:12).  I want to "take hold of that for which Messiah Yeshua took hold of me" (Phil. 3:12).

French Elections and Aliya

In the wake of the French presidential elections, in which Nicholas Sarkozy was ousted by Socialist candidate Francois Holland, there is a growing concern about anti-Semitism and a surge of interest among Jews to immigrate to Israel. Sarkozy's grandfather was a Hungarian Jewish aristocrat who converted to marry a Roman Catholic lady.  In France there are approximately 483,000 Jews.  In the yearly Aliya conference sponsored by the Jewish agency this weekend in France, a record 5,000 people attended. Of those, 100 have already purchased apartments in Israel in preparation for immigration.

Israeli Unity Government

Israel awoke this Tuesday morning stunned by a surprising and dramatic political deal: the joining of Kadima party under Shaul Mofaz to a unity government under Likud's Benjamin Netanyahu. The new coalition is an unprecedented 94 seats out of 120, and solidifies power under Netanyahu's rule.

While the deal may have been motivated by political ambition, it will likely be of benefit to the country by making the current coalition broader, more moderate and stable; better able to handle difficult issues facing the nation.

Several circumstances led up to this sudden change of direction. The Israeli Supreme Court ruled that the government must tear down 5 houses in the Bet El settlement; an extremist faction in the Likud party challenged Netanyahu's leadership; the Kadima party dropped drastically in the polls; and there has been a widespread call for economic, electoral and military draft reforms.

Pentecost Prayer

By Avichai Orel

As we get closer to celebrate Shavuot, we must remember what took place after Yeshua ascended to heaven and after the disciples prayed all night (as we believe) … YES, the pouring out of the Holy Spirit. In Acts 2:16, Peter quotes Joel 2:28 claiming that what just took place was the fulfillment of Joel’s prophecy, but is that all? Was the Spirit poured out on ALL flesh? Clearly not. What the disciples experienced was a sample of what is yet to come.

For this purpose we have set our hearts to do the same as the early disciples until that day will come to pass. On May 26th, the evening of Shavuot, starting at 6PM we will have a 12 hour fast, prayer, praise and intercession night, at our house of prayer “Mishkan Elohai” (the dwelling place of my God). We will pray all night for God to pour out His Spirit on all flesh, and we will do so until He does!

Three Elijahs

By Asher Intrater

After the Mount of Transfiguration experience, Yeshua's disciples asked Him about Elijah the prophet. Yeshua's answer presented three different ways of looking at the biblical prophecies concerning Elijah, and thus gave us a pattern for a "three-fold" interpretation of other biblical prophecies as well.

Matthew 17:11-13
"Indeed, Elijah is coming first and will restore all things. But I say to you that Elijah has already come; and they did not recognize him…" Then the disciples understood that He spoke to them of John the Baptist.

There was the historical prophet Elijah of the book of I Kings; there was John the Baptist, and there will be another Elijah type-figure in the end times. There is a past, present, and future fulfillment of prophetic scriptures.

This pattern is more profound when we consider the development of the covenants and the kingdom of God. There is a progression from Israelite history to the Church age to the Millennial kingdom. Elijah challenged the sinful kings of Israel. John introduced the gospel message. An Elijah-type prophet or prophetic ministry will appear to prepare the way for the Second Coming (Malachi 4:5).

There is also a three-fold overlap of prophecies concerning Jerusalem and the Temple. There is Solomon's Temple; then the Temple of Yeshua's time; then the Temple of the end times. There was a great war against Jerusalem in Jeremiah's time; then again in 70 AD; and there will be an even greater war in the end times. (In Yeshua's teaching on the end times on the Mount of Olives, there is a similar overlap.)

This three-fold dimension of interpretation could also be defined: Old Covenant, New Covenant, End Times; or Israel, Church, Kingdom. The three-fold progression of biblical prophecy is a logical and necessary pattern for the unfolding of God's plans and purposes.
