Repackaging Lies and Truths

So much evil in the world is because people believe in lies.  Yeshua calls Satan, our archenemy, “the father of lies.”  (Jn 8:44) if the truth is by nature more logical, healthy, and moral, why do people believe in lies? Simply put, they must be convinced and persuaded by repeated false information.  If a lie is repeated often enough, it will eventually be believed as truth.

A lie is introduced in one of two ways: either by taking something inherently good and presenting it as bad; or by taking something inherently bad and presenting it as good. In modern media techniques, when an event happens which would be detrimental to a person's political agenda, he tries to "spin" it to present the situation as if it were actually a victory for him. If his opponent achieves a success, he tries to spin it to take credit for himself.

A lie must either call a good thing bad, or call a bad thing good.  A lie twists the truth by packaging it and presenting it to be the opposite of what it really is. Even Satan tries to pose as an angel of light (II Corinthians 11:14).

A recent novel portrays a couple, who work as Christian youth camp counselors, as being secret serial murderers.  That is to take something good and spin it to be bad.  The implication is that Christians are evil.

Terrorists who have been indoctrinated for years into Islamic Jihad are called by the media "troubled youth," in order to disassociate them from any connection to Islam. Thus Islamic terrorists are packaged as not Islamic.

Sexual immorality (including adultery, prostitution, homosexuality, lesbianism, and sado-masochism) is presented in the entertainment world as romantic, exciting, artistic, and fun.  Wholesome relationships between husbands and wives, parents and children, and normal family life are portrayed as unhealthy, confining, boring, and uncreative.

Don't let yourself be brainwashed when good is packaged as evil, or evil is packaged as good.

Yad Hashmona is the only Messianic Kibbutz in Israel, located in the Judean foothills just outside of Jerusalem.   The current membership has been around 20 families (35 voting adults).  But this week, for the first time in its history, the kibbutz voted for a substantial increase in size and vision.
We accepted into the Kibbutz 50 new members!  All are local Messianic believers with Israeli citizenship.  This increase demands a sizeable building program for roads, homes, children's facilities, infrastructure, etc.

If God gives us grace to succeed in this project, there will be an unprecedented example of a real-life Messianic community in the center of Israel!  The practical and spiritual fruit will be exponential.  We need your prayers and support. End Times prophecies are connected to Israel, because Yeshua will return there.  For the past 2,000 years, the nation of Israel has been destroyed and the people dispersed. Therefore, it seemed difficult to understand these prophecies literally.  Many “heavenly” interpretations were only mystical and allegorical detached from earthly, historical realities.

Yet now that the Jewish people have been regathered and the nation restored, a literal and physical fulfillment of these prophecies is becoming apparent and obvious.  Yeshua will return, the nations will attack Israel, the dead will be raised, the saints raptured, the kingdom set up in Jerusalem, and Eden restored on earth.

Some people did understand the prophecies this way. Here is a quote from famous physicist Sir Isaac Newton (1642 – 1747):  "About the times of the End, a body of men will be raised up who will turn their attention to the prophecies, and insist upon their literal interpretation, in the midst of much clamor and opposition.” 

Yes, it is all really, actually going to take place. And those who dare to believe it and declare it will certainly face controversy and opposition. At least Sir Isaac Newton thought so.

Last week we had a significant time of ministry at the Tikkun America Leadership conference.  During the conference and on Sunday at Immanuel's Church, Asher Intrater and Paul Wilbur had the opportunity to minister together four times – blending together worship, prophecy, and teaching together in Spirit-led teamwork. 

Tikkun America is a network of some 20 Messianic congregations, led by Dan Juster. The conference featured, in addition to Asher and Paul's ministry, a variety of seminars and teachings, including main sessions with Dan Juster, Don Finto, and Troy Wallace.  Leaders received an impartation of their role in the End-Times plan of the Lord. The family of congregations got a renewed vision of the intimate connection between the American and Israeli Messianic Jewish movements.  

Our friends at Immanuel's were encouraged with a message about the beauty of diversity within the Body and a vision for the megatrends happening in the Body around the world today.
