Spiritual Maturity - Don't Be an Accuser of the Saints
By Asher Intrater
After
many years of serving the Lord, I have developed such a level of maturity,
wisdom and discernment that I understand what is wrong with everyone
else: members of our congregations, ministry partner's and spiritual
leaders. I have collected and categorized all these people's faults
in innumerable mental files in my memory.
Many of my discussions with other leaders examine the faults of those we work with. Much of my prayer life rehearses these problems before the Lord. Often my thoughts are concerned with the faults of others. This reminds me of a verse of Scripture:
Revelation 12:10 – Now salvation, strength and the kingdom of God, and the power of His Messiah have come, because the accuser of the brethren, who accused them before God day and night has been cast down.
Oh my God! Is what I have been calling spiritual maturity actually servitude to Satan? (The word "Satan" שטן in Hebrew means "accuser.") What percentage of my conversations deal with other people's faults? What percentage of my prayers? My thoughts? Perhaps you should ask yourself the same questions.
According to the verse above, if we could just stop accusing and condemning one another, great spiritual power would be released. Let's pray this together: "Lord, cleanse me of all satanic sprits of accusing my brothers and sisters! Help me to be their advocate before you like Yeshua (I John 2:1) and intercede for them, not against them (Romans 8:34)."
The Household of Faith
By Mikha'el Kerem
An Israeli government official recently explained to me that in Judaism there is a Hebrew term (ערבות הדדית ), which means mutual responsibility/solidarity. It is what motivates Israelis and Jews alike to come to the aid of other Jews during natural disasters and humanitarian crises around the world. Of course this aid is extended to others but it's one of the reasons why you see such a quick response by Israeli rescue teams and field hospitals. He then asked me: "Why doesn't this happen among Christians?"
While there are many Christian relief organizations, many don't specifically work to help other Christians. The words of Yeshua in Matthew 24 about the end times often create a tension for us; “there will be wars and rumors of wars… famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places…And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.”
In John 13 He says “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Our response in times of need can be a great opportunity to share the gospel with the lost, but we must also remember those in the household of faith. When we love one another as Yeshua has commanded us, all will see the genuineness of our faith.
As we look toward Yeshua’s return, watching and praying showing mercy and proclaiming the gospel of the Kingdom are all to be priorities for us. But these commandments are given during a period where 'evil is increasing' and the 'love of many is growing cold'. Proclaiming the truth both in our actions and our words will mark the end time church in the Middle East, especially if we are going to see the sons of Ishmael returned to the house of their father Abraham and the Isaiah 19 Highway established to bless the nations.
Sailing to the Same Destination
By Cody Archer
During our morning worship this week a picture came into my mind that I believe is from the Holy Spirit. I saw our RI team in a very small boat sailing in the ocean. The more we advanced the more we found other boats of all types and sizes that had gone out ahead of us. These boats had names on them like Aglow, Tikkun, Gateways, IHOPKC and many other ministries and congregations with whom we have partnership. Most of these boats where much larger than ours, but when they saw us they came in beside and behind our little boat. We began to form a 'V' in the water with the apostles out front setting the direction and course. Our destination was the return of King Yeshua to Jerusalem to set up His kingdom and our call to rule with Him over the earth.
Many other boats were taking notice of the unity of purpose we had and were trying to catch up and join the formation. I also saw the waves lapping up on the shore and the people on land were also taking notice and getting in their boats to come and join us. But for many this was difficult because of the size of waves, fears, and wrong theology about the end times.
In every direction boats were bobbing up and down in the waves with no clear direction or purpose. I felt from the Holy Spirit we were to intercede for them and all those trying to catch up, we were to call them into their place for the time is short. We need them in the formation with us, prepared for the end times and seeking to hasten the return of Yeshua.
The Messiah Revealed
In this message Ashers shares on the identity of the Messiah. We are introduced to Yeshua through His apostles, yet He is found throughout all of scripture. How do we as believers embrace the union between the covenants with the Jewish people and grafted in believers of the nations?
