© 24 June 2016 Revive Israel Ministries How to Connect with Israel? (Part 1) Ariel Blumenthal As Christians, how are we to relate to Israel? How to connect with her? In Romans 11:17-24, Paul likens this vital, organic connection to being grafted into the Olive Tree of God’s covenant family. For a complete understanding of this teaching, we have to first understand that the Biblical term “Israel” has three primary layers of meaning.
In summary, A & B refer to Israel as physical realities, while C refers to Israel in a more mysterious, spiritual way. All three are Biblically valid expressions of what the Bible means by “Israel”, and we may find ourselves connecting to one or the other at different times. But Romans (especially 11:11-26) and Ephesians (2:11—3:6) teach that the “fullness” of the revelation of God’s plan for Jew & Gentile (Israel & the nations) depends on us rightly discerning His priorities of “grafting” in the Olive Tree. Paul’s letters teach us that under the New Covenant the fullness of the mystery of God’s intention for “Israel” is found in Christ (Messiah), and by aligning the relations between Jew & Gentile according to all His covenants with Israel—people, nation & remnant! (In Part II, we will look at what these relations may look like practically.) Happy 10th Birthday, Ahavat Yeshua! Eddie Santoro
By God's grace (and lots of hard work!), these years have brought forth significant fruit! There have been challenges, a few defeats, but overall we have experienced great success and as we look back, we are filled with a deep sense of peace and contentment. At the first meeting in 2006, there were about fifteen people. Asher Intrater and I were the two senior leaders. We had worked together in Tel Aviv for 6 years and we knew very well that to raise up a congregation in Jerusalem, according to our vision, would not be easy. The first congregation in Jerusalem described in Acts 2 would be our model, with the name “Ahavat Yeshua” (Love of Jesus) reflecting our vision to be a congregation filled with His love and power. Today the small group of 15 has grown to about 120. Originally, the congregation was comprised of mostly young and single people. We saw great potential in each one and spent years meeting with them, breaking bread together, and walking them through difficulties and victories. We danced at their weddings and rejoiced as their young families grew. Many have now grown into mature members, and we are deeply committed to passing the leadership into their hands. Today they have much of the responsibility for leading and managing the congregation. Asher, Dan, and I have become the coaches, and the desire in their hearts to serve is bearing fruit. For this we are grateful and in this we give glory to God who is building His house in Jerusalem in our day! Meet the Team: Tal This week meet the Revive Israel team pastor, Tal Robin. Watch HERE!
