Summary of End Times - Part 1

Asher Intrater

The study of End Times can be very complicated and has many variables and moving parts. I would like to summarize the overall view of the End Times in 7 words:

  1. Tribulation
  2. Persecution
  3. Ecclesia (International Church)
  4. Israel
  5. Armageddon
  6. Second Coming
  7. Millennium

Let's define each of these terms briefly.

  1. Tribulation

Yeshua said about the End Times that they would be "As it was in the days of Noah…As it was in the days of Lot" (Luke 17:26-29).  In both the days of Noah and the days of Lot, horrible evil took over human society. Violence and sexual perversion ruled. We see trends towards this today, and it will become worse. Ultimately an evil government will take over the world, like the days of the wicked Pharaonic Empire in the time of Moses. The Bible refers to this one world global government and religion as "the Beast" (Revelation 13:1).

Revelation 12:15

The serpent sent forth from his mouth a river of water after the woman, to wash her away in the river.

This includes a massive amount of media brainwashing, misinformation and propaganda.

  1. Persecution

The central part of that tribulation will be an attack upon the righteous.

Revelation 13:7

(The beast) was allowed to make war with the saints and to overcome them, and he was given rule over every tribe and people and tongue and nation.

God will protect His people during that time, yet they will undergo intense persecution. This will be an opportunity to bear witness of the truth, to be purified, humbled, strengthened, and to prove His righteous judgment on the wicked. The persecution will be aimed at any believers in Yeshua, anyone who stands for traditional marriage values, for Israel, or for righteousness in general. Yeshua said we would be "delivered to those who persecute you" (Matthew 24:9).

  1. Ecclesia

The gospel of the Kingdom must be spread to every nation before the end will come (Matthew 24:14). The Church (Ecclesia) among the nations will come to its fullness, both in size (Revelation 7:9), in spirit (Romans 11:25), and in purity (Revelation 19:7). There will be true believers in every nation, with an outpouring of the Holy Spirit on all flesh. They will be unified in heart and love (John 17:21-23).  The fullness of the International Ecclesia or Church is a fulfillment of the promises to the Israelite patriarchs to bless the whole world and become the fullness of the Gentiles.

Genesis 12:3

..And in you all families of the earth will be blessed.

Other promises to Isaac, Jacob, Joseph and Ephraim: Genesis 22:18 , Genesis 28:3, 35:11, Genesis 48:8.

  1. Israel

There are over 30 promises and prophecies in the Bible that God will regather the Jewish people from dispersion, restore their nation, and bring spiritual renewal. This has already taken place to a large degree since the beginning of the Zionist return in the late 1800's, to the founding of the State of Israel in 1948, the recapture of Jerusalem in 1967, and so on.  One of the central aspects of the spiritual renewal of Israel is the restoration of the Messianic remnant, the growing community of Jewish people who believe in Yeshua, both in Israel and around the world. Israel will continue to grow in world influence and attention.
