© 27 March 2020 Revive Israel Ministries Summary of End Times - Part 2 Asher Intrater The study of End Times can be very complicated and has many variables and moving parts. We have begun to summarize the overall view of the End Times in 7 words:
Let's continue defining each of these terms briefly.
The spiritual conflict throughout the whole world will culminate in a huge war. The center of that war will be a combined attack of nations from all over the world against Israel (Zechariah 14:1-2, Ezekiel 38-39 ). As the nations enter Israel from the north, there will be a great battle in the valley of Jezreel, called Armageddon (in Hebrew הר מגידו ) or Megiddo (Revelation 16:14-16). Then the battle will move to its finale at Jerusalem. This battle was foreshadowed by the attack of Assyria in Isaiah 37 and the Yom Kippur War in 1973. While the nations attack Israel, God describes it as an attack against Himself.
As the nations conquer Jerusalem and the city is captured, there is no choice left for God but to intervene. The heavens will open; Yeshua will return as a warrior king, a punishing judge and a military commander; the armies of heaven will come with Him riding white horses; they will destroy the demonic armies in the air and the human enemy armies on the ground (Matthew 24:27, 30; Revelation 19:11-19). Yeshua will stand on the Mount of Olives (Zechariah 14:4). The dead (of the first resurrection) will be raised and the saints will be transformed (I Corinthians 15:52, I Thessalonians 4:16). Revelation 19:20-20:3 The Beast was captured and the false prophet who worked signs before it…the two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with sulphur. Those remaining were killed with the sword coming out of the mouth of the One seated on the horse…I saw an angel…he caught the serpent, the ancient snake which is the accuser, and bound him for a thousand years. The forces of the Antichrist and the Devil are driven off the earth.
After the battle, Yeshua will enter Jerusalem in triumph. He will set up His capital in Jerusalem and His earthly kingdom of purity, peace and prosperity. Isaiah 2:1-4 And it shall be in the Last Days, the mountain of the house of the Lord will be established on the top of the hills…and all nations will run to it. And many nations will go and say 'Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob'…for the law will go forth from Zion and the Word of the Lord from Jerusalem. And He will judge the nations… This is the Messianic kingdom on earth (Micah 4:1-5, Ezekiel 40-48, Revelation 20). The saints will rule and reign with Yeshua. This kingdom is foreshadowed in the rule of King Solomon (I Kings 1-10, Matthew 12:42) and prayed for in the Lord's prayer (Matthew 6:10). After the 1,000 year reign of Yeshua as King Messiah, Satan is released for a short time, the final battle takes place and then comes the final judgment of the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:7-15).
Although we listed 7 categories above, there is actually an 8th. At the end of the 6th Millennium, the Messiah returns. His 1000-year Messianic Kingdom is the 7th Millennium. At the end of the 7th millennium, comes the 8th “millennium”. This is called the New Creation. Heavenly Jerusalem descends and is joined with earthly Jerusalem. There is the final resurrection of the dead. Those written in the Book of Life will live forever in perfect joy, with no death, sadness or sickness. The Garden of Eden is restored. Eden and Jerusalem become one. This happy and eternal ending is the final part of the plan of God (telios in Greek). It is described in the last two chapters of the Bible, Revelation 21 and 22. The importance of understanding this summary of the End Times is not to predict some future events, but to understand God's plan for establishing His Kingdom and His will on the earth, and to prepare our hearts to serve God correctly in these final days before Yeshua's return.
