The word for “eternity” in Hebrew is “Netsach”. The word for “victory” is “Netsachon” – which could be literally translated as “a little part of eternity.” Our spiritual victory in this life is that we already have eternal life granted to us. Therefore no matter what the circumstances may seem to be, we always have the victory. Why? Because in the long run, we already know we have eternal life.

If in the middle of a sports game, the other side seems to be winning, but you have a glimpse into the future and you know that the final score is in your favor, then you have the victory already. The word in Greek for “victory” is “Nike.” And we can have the victory in whatever kind of shoes we wear.

The word “Netsach” is also used as “overcome” or “conquer”. It is found in the Hebrew version of John 16:33 – “In the world you will have tribulation, but be encouraged, for I have overcome the world.” In Yeshua, we already have the victory, because He has risen from the dead.

In John 17:3, Yeshua prayed to the Father, “This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God…” Having a personal relationship with God is a taste of eternity, and that is our victory. Be encouraged. Yeshua has conquered death, given us eternal life, opened the door to knowing the Father’s love, and won the victory on our behalf.

Surprising Psalms

Beginnings are important. They are foundational. In Acts 2, the Holy Spirit was poured out on Shavuot/Pentecost and the church was born. Over the next 2.5 chapters, the disciples (mostly Peter) proclaim the Gospel, several times, to all the Jewish people gathered in...
